Hi everyone!! O.K., here is my story. It's been quite awhile ago, so I will do the best I can.

This happened to my mother when I was in my very early teens (I'm 34 now). I am the oldest of 7 kids and this incident happened when my mom had her 6th child, Keri.

It was her first night home from the hospital after giving birth & Keri had a crib in my parent’s room. My mom and dad had their own bathroom off of their room and my mom had decided to leave the bathroom light on during the night so that when Keri woke up to be fed she could see what she was doing. The way my parents bedroom was set up when the bathroom light was on it would glare off of the mirror my mom had on her dresser and shine into her eyes making it hard for her to sleep. So, in order to stop this from happening she put a blanket over the mirror on her dresser so that the bathroom light would not shine into her eyes while she was trying to sleep. Anyway, it was her first night home from the hospital like I said and she had gone to bed and fallen asleep.

A little while later she had a nightmare and had woken herself up by crying out "Help!". The nightmare scared her to death. She had dreamt that the devil had come into her bedroom and he was furious with her for covering up the mirror with the blanket--the reason he was so furious was something like he needed the mirror in order to be able to completely come into her room or something--and he wanted her to take the blanket off of the mirror immediately. Well, this dream really freaked her out, but she didn't take the blanket off of the mirror since it was only a silly dream and nothing to take seriously.

The next night she was again woken up by this nightmare when she had once again cried out the word "Help!". She was really freaked out by now, but she just chalked it up to just having a baby and her exhaustion making herhave bad dreams. She once again left the blanket over the mirror so the light wouldn't glare into her eyes while she was trying to sleep. (I also need to mention here that my dad was not at home at this time-he had gone out of town on a business trip and was not coming home for another week so my mom was alone in her bedroom except for the newborn Keri)

The third night my mom had the dream again only this time the devil was more furious than ever. He got right up in her face and screamed at her that he wanted that blanket off of the mirror and he wanted it off RIGHT NOW!!! Once again my mom was able to wake herself up from her horrible dream when she managed to cry out the word "Help!!". Only this time it was different. This time when she woke up she could not move. It was like she was paralyzed and all that she could move was her eyes. No matter how hard she tried she could not move. And to make matters worse, she realized that SOMEONE WAS ON THE BED WITH HER!! She could feel the bed going down next to her like someone was climbing into bed. She said that she was definately awake and there was someone in there with her. She had never been so scared in her entire life!! All the while she is laying there trying to move while someone is on the bed with and she can't do a thing. She remembered that she had been able to wake up from the dreams by crying out so she tried really hard to do that now. It took her awhile, but she was finally able to cry out the word "Help" and that broke the spell or whatever was paralyzing her. The minute that she could move again the weight lifted from the bed next to her.

She said that she was terrified, but that was nothing compared to how she felt when she got up the courage to look around her room. Because the blanket was not on the mirror any longer--it was THROWN INTO THE CORNER OF HER ROOM!! When she had gone to bed that night the blanket was covering the mirror and now it was laying in the corner as if someone had ripped it off and tossed it there. Now, remember my dad was out of town, so he couldn't have done it and when my mom finally got the courage to get out of bed she checked on all of us kids and we were all sound asleep so we couldn't have done it either. (I have no idea WHY we would want to do it in the first place) It took my mom quite a few days to calm down after this happened and needless to say, she never put a blanket over the mirror again. And after that night she never had the nightmare again either. She didn't tell any of us about this for quite awhile, but when she did it scared the crap out of us!!
