When it comes to Shadow People, I have a lot of stories. In fact, sometimes I see them several nights a week in my room while I am trying to sleep.
When I was younger (maybe 3-8) Shadow People were a constant pest when I was trying to sleep and tended to constantly scare the heck out of me. I saw them at least 2-3 nights a week and the only way I could get them to go away was to properly arrange objects in my room, like stacking my toy boxes high up on my dresser and in front of the door in places they tended to "apparate". My memories of Shadow People at this time are quite vague, but the one of them that most comes to mind is the one who I called "The Crocodile Man". The Crocodile Man was a short (3 foot tall at most) figure with what looked like to be a long animal like snout sticking off its face and eyes that sat on top of its head. It would never do anything except sit and watch and occasionally open and close his "jaw" and it never felt extraordinarily menacing like some of the other ones that I saw less constantly. None the less I always knew the creature was not exactly something with any interests in helping me either.
As I grew older, I had significantly less encounters with these Shadow People and for at least a few years in Middle School I can't remember seeing any of them at all. In fact for a large part I think completely forgot about them until one night in the summer between my sophomore and junior year in high school.
All of the encounters I can remember is waking up sometime in the late hours of the night with one of the most horrible feelings of dread I think I've ever felt in my life. While not feeling sick, I know I felt like it was surely the end of my life. Not knowing what was going on, I tried to get myself up to turn the light on, but found I couldn't without a great deal of force. I eventually gave up and decided to take it one step at a time, and managed, despite everything in my body telling me not too, to look to the side of my bed where I saw a large hourglass shaped figure looming above me. I remember it feeling like the creature's stare itself carried a heavy weight that was crushing my bones, and after that I must have apparently passed out because thats the last memory in my head of that night. I was visibly disturbed the entire next day, and I remember people telling me how awful I looked.
Now I am 19 years old and in college, and after the night mentioned above more and more encounters have been taking place, but just not quite as bad. Two of the most interesting recent encounters I've had are one that was about two months ago where a it seemed as if two shadow people were fighting until one appeared to transform into a giant animal and devour the loser, and one where 6-8 of them surrounded my bed and just repeatedly shook it as if to scare me into reacting, which I didn't.
To be honest, despite the fact I constantly see the Shadow People (A few times a month now), I am now no longer the least bit afraid of them. It almost seems now that when I do see them they tend to go about their own business in my room and largely ignore me as if I were not there (the shaking incident being the recent exception). Also, I probably should say part of the reason I have become so desensitized to them is because I've read some great scientific explanations that deal with things such as sleeping patterns and diet that seem to make a lot of sense. I will admit though, I'm not so sure how much I agree with these explanations because they seem like real plausible answers to my problem or because its simply less frightening when there you can say its all something logical.
